India made a strong comeback in the final session of Day 1 at Perth Stadium, reducing Australia to 31/4 in the opening Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test after being bowled out for just 150.
As expected, captain Jasprit Bumrah led the charge with a brilliant opening spell, claiming three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana also bowled fiery spells to keep the Australian batters on edge.
Siraj’s relentless pressure, combined with Bumrah’s precision, ensured Australia stayed on the defensive. Siraj’s fiery approach reached a peak during a tense confrontation with Marnus Labuschagne in his fourth over.
Siraj bowled a delivery on a good length that rose sharply, striking Labuschagne on the thigh. In the process, Labuschagne had strayed out of his crease and was unaware of the ball, which had rolled behind him.
Siraj quickly chased after the ball, hoping to run him out, but Labuschagne reacted just in time to return to safety. However, as Siraj was about to break the stumps, Labuschagne cheekily pushed the ball away with his bat, prompting Siraj to appeal for obstructing the field.
