WATCH : Kohli rages with umpire over controversial no-ball dismissal

KKR, despite losing the toss and being put in to bat first, amassed a formidable total of 222 runs in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was propelled by a dazzling start from Phil Salt, followed by a solid half-century from Shreyas Iyer.

RCB appeared to be on course in the initial overs of their chase, but a pivotal moment arose in the third over when Harshit Rana delivered a deceptive slower full-toss to Virat Kohli.

Kohli, taken aback by the unexpected change of pace, misjudged the delivery, resulting in an outside edge towards the bowler’s left. Rana exhibited agility, swiftly moving to secure the looping rebound and claimed the catch, which was confirmed by the on-field umpire.

Despite Kohli’s belief that the delivery was a no-ball, his referral to the TV umpire, Michael Gough, upheld the original decision. The updated DRS system clarified that the trajectory of the ball was within the permissible limits, just below Kohli’s waist, rendering it a fair delivery.

However, Kohli expressed visible discontent with the decision, engaging in animated discussions with the umpires and displaying frustration even after returning to the dressing room. The cameras captured his agitation, evident through gestures and nods, reflecting his dissatisfaction with the turn of events.
