During a match between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, Krunal Pandya of Lucknow Super Giants had to retire hurt on 49 on Tuesday.

Lucknow Super Giants were asked to bat first by Mumbai Indians and found themselves in a precarious position at 12 for two early on. However, Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis came together to initiate a recovery for their team.

After facing 42 balls, he unfortunately had to retire hurt on 49. Throughout his innings, the left-handed batsman faced difficulties in timing the ball and could only muster two boundaries—a four and a six.

Krunal and Stoinis formed a solid partnership, amassing 82 runs for the third wicket, until the stand-in captain began experiencing difficulties while running between the wickets.

Subsequently, Krunal made the decision to leave the field after a commendable 16-year-long career. Although the nature of his departure remains uncertain, the IPL website has classified Krunal’s departure as “retired hurt.”

Stoinis displayed a remarkable innings, especially considering his notable performances this season have mostly occurred away from home. However, tonight he delivered a splendid display, contributing significantly to Lucknow Super Giants’ total of 177 runs—an impressive score on this particular track. The final three overs were particularly noteworthy, with Stoinis contributing 54 runs, leading to a magnificent finish for Lucknow Super Giants.
