The PSL 2023 final featuring Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans was filled with thrilling moments. The match remained evenly poised till the very last over when the versatile death bowler, Zaman Khan, displayed remarkable composure and delivered an exceptional over, even amidst immense pressure.
With their team at 188-7 after 19 overs, Khushdil Shah and Abbas Afridi were tasked with scoring 13 runs in the final over. Both batsmen got off to a solid start, with Khushdil scoring 19 off just 8 deliveries and Afridi contributing 15 runs from 4 deliveries.
In the final over of PSL 2023, Zaman Khan began with a sharp short ball that resulted in Afridi attempting a pull shot and getting a top edge, allowing the duo to run for a couple. Afridi managed a single on the next delivery, but Zaman’s dot ball against Khushdil made things even more challenging for the Multan-based franchise.
On the fourth delivery, Khushdil Shah tried to slog but missed, resulting in a bye as they quickly ran for the second run thanks to an overthrow from the bowler. Khushdil then hit a boundary over the cover region on the fifth delivery.
With one ball remaining, Multan Sultans required a boundary to win the title or three runs to take the game to the Super over. Zaman bowled a yorker, and Khushdil played it towards mid-wicket, allowing them to run for two runs but unable to complete the third run, leaving the scores unlevelled.
