WATCH : Magical ball by Ravi Ashwin to bowled out Sikandar Raza

In the eighth match of IPL, batsman Sikandar Raza of Punjab Kings was disappointed with the bat once again. In the match against Rajasthan, he could only manage to score one run before getting bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin’s superb delivery. This star player from Zimbabwe was out for 16 runs in 13 balls in his debut match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Let me tell you that this right-handed batsman came to bat in the 16th over when Punjab’s score was 158 runs for 2 wickets. At this point, he had the right platform to showcase his ability as a good finisher. However, he could only manage to face 2 balls as Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a carrom ball and knocked off his off-stump when he had scored just 1 run.

In the 17th over, Ashwin had bowled a good length ball at the off-stump which Raza wanted to guide towards the off-side. However, the ball spun slightly and went towards the outside, hitting the off-stump and knocking off the bails of the batsman.

Raza misjudged the delivery and his head was down as he walked back to the pavilion after being bowled. Raza is playing in the IPL for the first time in his career this year. Punjab Kings had bought this talented all-rounder for a base price of 50 lakh rupees in the IPL 2023 auction.

Punjab lost 4 wickets in 20 overs while batting after losing the toss and scored 197 runs. Captain Shikhar Dhawan scored the most for the team with 86 runs off 56 balls, including 9 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. In addition to him, Prabhsimran Singh played a brilliant half-century partnership, scoring 60 runs with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes in just 34 balls.

These two opening batsmen shared a 90-run partnership in just 9.4 overs. Jason Holder was the most successful bowler for Rajasthan Royals, taking 2 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin also took one wicket each.
