WATCH : Masood’s ball-watching finds him in disastrous run-out

Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan continued their solid batting display before West Indies tightened their game in the second half of the first session, dismissing them for 230. In response, the West Indies could only muster 137, with contributions mainly coming from the lower order.

Pakistan then took a 93-run lead, bolstered by a strong start from Masood, who maintained a positive approach despite the departures of Mohammad Hurraira and Babar Azam at the other end.

However, just as Masood seemed set to play out the day, a costly mistake led to his downfall. In the second ball of the 28th over, Masood fended off a fuller, slower delivery from Jomel Warrican towards the gully and called for a quick single.

Kamran Ghulam responded promptly, halfway down the pitch, but Masood hesitated, distracted by the fielder and unsure of the run. His indecision led to a disastrous run-out.

The on-field umpire didn’t need much review to make the call, and Masood, with his head in his hands, was sent back to the pavilion. The dismissal, occurring just before stumps, sparked a flurry of reactions on social media.
