WATCH: Mohammad Siraj exchanges heated words with Washington Sundar in practice match; Sundar departs on the very next ball

India’s senior team is currently playing a practice test match against England’s County Select XI ahead of their much anticipated 5-match test series against England on their home ground. In the 3-day match being played at Durham, today was the 2nd day. The likes of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Aswhin have been rested for the practice match.

India’s playing XI against County XI: Rohit Sharma(C), Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Hanuma Vihari, KL Rahul (WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.

Due to the excessive crowd in the Indian squad, two Indian players, namely Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar are playing for the County XI against India so that they get some match fitness as well. It was due to this that there was a moment of heated argument between the two RCB teammates of India, Mohammad Siraj and Washington Sundar.

Batting first, India made 311 in 93 overs. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were the best performers in the batting unit. On the other hand, County Select XI got a sloppy start to their innings. The moment of the day, however, had to be the brawl between Washington Sundar and Mohammad Siraj.

The Hyderabad born pacer dismissed Washington Sundar on a duck but the mind games that went behind it was astonishing. On the first delivery of the over, Mohammad Siraj bowled a low bouncer which the All-rounder totally misread. Siraj was seen chirping something to Sundar after that delivery which probably got under the youngster’s skin as he edged behind towards the slip in the very next delivery.

Netizens have questioned whether it was right for Mohammad Siraj to sledge his own teammate but it must be admitted that if Siraj’s mind games continue to work like this, India will get a big benefit against England in the test series.
