In the TNPL 2023 Qualifier against Dindigul Dragons, Nellai Royal Kings reached the final by successfully chasing a target of 186 runs. However, it was not just their impressive performance that caught everyone’s attention, but a hilarious moment during the game.
During Dindigul’s batting innings, M Poiyamozhi was bowling the final over. Subodh Bhati was facing him when the over began with a wide delivery outside the off-stump. Attempting a powerful slog to the leg side, Bhati mistimed his shot and ended up top-edging the ball high into the sky.
With the ball lacking timing, it appeared to be a straightforward catching opportunity for the fielders. The wicketkeeper started running backward, while Lakshay Jain sprinted from fine leg, both aiming to grab the catch.
Additionally, another fielder was approaching from gully, resulting in three fielders converging on the same spot. Unfortunately, a lack of communication between the fielders caused a comical situation.
