Starting the day with Mohammed Siraj as his final batting partner, Nitish Reddy knew the responsibility to score runs rested on his shoulders.
After Siraj successfully defended a couple of Pat Cummins deliveries in the first over, Reddy handed him the strike with five balls remaining to face Nathan Lyon. But before Siraj faced the off-spinner, Reddy quickly offered him some advice on how to play Lyon.
“Miyan Bhai, off stump pe khade rehna, bahar ka ball chod do. Ghoomega nahi. Ghoomega to kuch nahi kar sakte hain. Seedha ball khelna (Siraj, stand on the off stump and leave all the balls outside the line. The ball won’t turn. If it does, there’s not much we can do. Play for the straight one),” Reddy was heard telling Siraj.
He bats. He bowls. He guides the No. 11 like a pro. 😎
