WATCH : Pant plays fire with fire after counterattacking on-song Boland with first ball four

India faced a stern test against the challenging pink ball under the floodlights, as the Australian bowlers took full advantage.

Trailing by 157 runs, India quickly lost three wickets in the final session of Day 2, with Virat Kohli being dismissed by Scott Boland.

Despite the mounting pressure, Rishabh Pant responded with an aggressive approach to put a dent in Boland’s confidence.

After Boland drew an outside edge from Kohli on the third ball of the 15th over with a length delivery outside the stumps, he was ready to bowl to the new batter, Pant. The Aussie pacer went for a similar line and length, but Pant had other plans.

With quick footwork, he charged down the pitch and blasted the ball through the wide mid-off region. The ball sped away to the boundary like a rocket, and the Twitterverse erupted in praise, applauding Pant’s audacity and quick thinking.
