Ravindra Jadeja has just won the match for Chennai Super Kings ! Well yes technically speaking it was Deepak Chahar who finished the match off with a single but none of that would be possible without Ravindra Jadeja’s intervention in the 19th over. The veteran all-rounder completely changed the fate of the game with his big-hitting and aggressive play in the penultimate over against KKR’s Prasidh Krishna and turned the game in CSK’s favour.
CSK took on KKR in the second phase of IPL 2021 tonight at the Sheikh Zayed stadium. Both of the teams had not lost a single match in the second phase till now and one of the teams was set to lose it’s said supremacy. KKR won the toss and chose to bat first and did pretty well. They managed to reach a defendable total of 171 and thus put the target of 171 for MS Dhoni and his men.
CSK might have started off well but after the fall of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis, they looked lacklustre. Moeen Ali tried to make some runs but he had to depart as well. Fans had a lot of hopes from MS Dhoni but Varun Chakravarthy, who had earlier taken the wicket of MS Dhoni twice, repeated it for the second time. Dhoni got clean bowled after scoring just 1 run.
CSK had to score 24 runs in just 10 balls when Ravindra Jadeja completely changed the fate of the game. He scored 21 runs in the 19th over (22 runs in the over as Sam Curran took the other run). However, that was not the end of the drama. 4 overs were still left of the over and Sunil Narine had the capability of defending them.
It came down to a point when CSK required 1 run off 1 ball and Deepak Chahar was on strike. Fortunately for CSK, Chahar managed to do that and they finally won the match.
