On Tuesday, March 14th, in the fourth match of the Legends League Cricket 2023 (LLC 2023), Robin Uthappa made a stunning performance with his batting. Opening for the India Maharajas against the Asia Lions, Uthappa played an unbeaten innings of 88 runs off 39 balls.
During his innings, Uthappa hit 11 fours and 5 sixes, meaning he scored 74 runs with just boundaries in 16 balls. In the ninth over of the India Maharajas’ innings, Uthappa scored 23 runs against Mohammad Hafeez.
Uthappa hit three consecutive sixes towards mid-wicket on the first three balls of Hafeez’s over. He hit a boundary on the fourth ball and took a single on the fifth ball. It is noteworthy that Uthappa retired from Indian cricket last year. Meanwhile, Hafeez recently played for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League 2023.
In response to Asia Lions’ total of 157 runs, Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir teamed up for an unbroken partnership of 159 runs for the first wicket in just 12.3 overs, leading India Maharajas to a 10-wicket victory.
Uthappa was named Player of the Match for his spectacular innings. In addition to Uthappa’s heroics, Gambhir scored an unbeaten 61 runs off 36 balls with the help of 12 boundaries. This is Gambhir’s third consecutive half-century in the tournament.
India Maharaja has won its first victory. Before this, the team had to face defeats at the hands of Aaron Finch’s World Giants and Shahid Afridi’s captaincy Asia Lions. India Maharaja is currently ranked second in the table with two points. The team’s next match will be against World Giants on Wednesday, March 15.
