WATCH : Rohit Sharma forgets taking Champions Trophy after press conference

Rohit Sharma and his forgetful nature seem inseparable, and once again, he proved it when he forgot to take the Champions Trophy with him. The Indian captain attended the usual post-match press conference, trophy in hand, but when it was time to leave, he literally walked off without it, only for the team manager to come back and collect it.

India claimed the Champions Trophy after a 12-year wait, with Rohit Sharma leading the charge in the final. His 76-run knock may not have been a century, but it laid a strong foundation for the win.

Shreyas Iyer contributed a gritty 48, with Axar Patel by his side, and KL Rahul finished the job, with Ravindra Jadeja hitting the final boundary to seal the victory.

The tournament was a true team effort, with contributions coming from all corners. Shreyas Iyer (263 runs) was the tournament’s top scorer for India, consistently delivering, while KL Rahul provided steady support in the lower order.

Cameos from Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel gave the team a boost, and Virat Kohli anchored the innings on multiple occasions. The bowlers, especially the spinners, played a crucial role, with Varun Chakravarthy living up to his “mystery spinner” tag.

The trio of Axar, Jadeja, and Kuldeep rose to the occasion when needed, with Hardik and the experienced Mohammad Shami offering valuable support.
