India secured a comfortable victory over the reigning champions, England, elevating themselves to the second-most successful team in ODI World Cup history, trailing only the five-time champions, Australia. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India posted a total of 229 on the scoreboard, largely thanks to a remarkable performance by their captain, Rohit Sharma.

Indian pace bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami, delivered exceptional spells that paved the way for India to clinch a commanding 100-run win, propelling them to the top of the tournament standings and securing the first spot in the semifinals. This marked their sixth consecutive victory in this prestigious competition, bringing their total World Cup wins to 59, just behind Australia’s 73.

Amid this resounding victory, a video circulating on social media depicted Rohit Sharma displaying his frustration towards Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Although Yadav had executed brilliant deliveries to dismiss Jos Buttler and later claim the wicket of Liam Livingstone, Rohit couldn’t conceal his annoyance with the sole spinner.

In the 22nd over, bowled by Yadav, one of his deliveries narrowly missed Livingstone’s bat, striking him on the pad. The Indian team chose not to review the decision at that moment. However, when Rohit Sharma observed the replays in the following over, he approached Kuldeep and expressed his frustration for not appealing for a review.

Former England captain Eoin Morgan, who was commentating during the incident, remarked, “It appears to be a disagreement between the two. Caution is necessary, considering Rohit is the captain and the one responsible for team selections.”
