India participated in a practice match against the Prime Minister’s XI in Australia to gear up for the upcoming Pink Ball Test match. During the game, an unusual incident involving Sarfaraz’s unconventional dismissal caught attention, leaving the Indian skipper visibly disappointed.
The moment quickly went viral on social media. Batting at number eight, Sarfaraz faced just four balls, scoring only one run before being dismissed in an unconventional manner by Australian spinner Jack Clayton.
The dismissal occurred in the 43rd over when Sarfaraz attempted to glance a leg-side delivery but got a faint edge. Wicketkeeper Sam Harper caught the ball and simultaneously attempted a stumping.
Ultimately, the umpire ruled him caught behind. As for the match, it was shortened to 50 overs per side due to rain. The Prime Minister’s XI batted first and managed to score 240, thanks to a brilliant century by Sam Konstas.
