Australian captain Mitch Marsh won the toss and chose to field in a crucial match against India, essentially a virtual knockout.

Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli began cautiously against the new ball, but Josh Hazlewood struck early, dismissing Kohli with a back-of-a-length delivery in the second over. Despite this setback, Rohit remained undeterred and adopted an aggressive approach against Australia’s ace pacer, Mitch Starc.

Starc’s first over was economical, conceding just five runs. However, in his second over, he delivered two full and wide balls, which Rohit elegantly sliced over deep cover using his wrists. Starc adjusted his line towards the fifth stump, but Rohit managed to get enough off the inside half of the bat to send the ball swirling over mid-on for a boundary.

Soon after, Rohit picked up a length ball and dispatched it over deep mid-wicket for a massive 96-meter six. A dot ball followed, but Starc’s subsequent error—a full toss outside off—was top-edged by Rohit over the third-man boundary for another four.

Rohit’s audacious approach, which resulted in Starc conceding his worst-ever over in T20I cricket, caused a frenzy on Twitter, with fans erupting in excitement over the Indian captain’s fearless batting display.
