WATCH : Saim Ayub’s epic fail trying to pull Surya’s iconic grab

The Lake City Panthers had a challenging start with the bat, losing their openers, Saim Ayub and Abdul Wahid Bangalzai, within the first five overs.

However, Usman Khan stepped up impressively on the flat Faisalabad pitch, scoring a brilliant century, ably supported by Shadab Khan, who added 65 runs. Their total of 328 runs in 50 overs was achieved despite a three-wicket haul by Usman Qadir.

In response, the Dolphins began well with Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Huraira establishing a 68-run partnership. A humorous moment unfolded after Huraira’s dismissal when Muhammad Akhlaq was given a second chance due to a comical fielding error by Saim Ayub.

During the 18th over, Usama Mir bowled a fuller-length ball to Muhammad Akhlaq, who stepped out and powerfully struck the ball over the boundary. Positioned at long off, Saim Ayub initially made a clean catch but, as he was carried towards the boundary by the ball’s momentum, his hurried throw ended up sending the ball over the ropes, granting six runs.

Mir, visibly stunned by the mishap, could only watch in disbelief, while social media buzzed with amusement over the incident, spotlighting Pakistan’s ongoing fielding challenges.
