WATCH : Saini’s inducking peach beats Gill all hands up to rattle off-stump

India A went into Tea on Day 2 of the Duleep Trophy opener at Chinnaswamy at 57/1 after India B posted 321, thanks largely to Musheer Khan’s remarkable 181.

Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal, the opening pair, appeared comfortable on a green pitch that had lost much of its initial bite.

They looked set to extend their half-century stand through the second session, but Navdeep Saini had other plans.Having just scored his second first-class half-century in a grueling 144-ball innings, Saini was brought on by Abhimanyu Easwaran for the final over before Tea.

Despite already being hit for two boundaries in the over, Saini faced Gill, who was in good form. Saini delivered a good-length ball wide of the off-stump, and Gill, aiming to safely reach the break, left the ball alone.

However, the ball unexpectedly deviated sharply, catching Gill off guard and crashing into middle off-stump.

Gill was stunned as he watched the ball hit the stumps and walked slowly off the field, while Saini celebrated with palpable excitement. Meanwhile, Twitter buzzed with a mix of shock and jubilation over the dramatic dismissal.
