WATCH : Sam Curran in awe as Nealan van Heerden grabs stunner to dismiss Phil Salt

Pursuing a formidable target of 249 runs, the Pretoria Capitals made an impressive start led by opener Philip Salt, who hammered 23 runs in the initial over bowled by George Linde.

The 27-year-old English batsman notched up a boundary and three consecutive sixes, setting a dynamic tone for the Capitals’ innings right from the outset and establishing a positive momentum.

However, the team’s fortune took a turn in the second over delivered by Sam Curran, witnessing a spectacular catch that stood out as one of the tournament’s highlights.

During the second ball of Curran’s over, he delivered a full-length ball outside off, prompting Salt to advance and take a swing with his bat. The resulting top-edge ballooned the ball high into the air, with Nealan van Heerden sprinting backward around the square leg region.

Despite momentarily overrunning, Van Heerden maintained his composure and executed a remarkable reverse-cup catch, leaving the crowd in awe. Curran, visibly astonished, covered his mouth with his hands in disbelief at the incredible spectacle he had just witnessed.
