In Multan, the Quetta Gladiators faltered under the pressure of the Karachi Kings, losing wickets rapidly and ending their first innings with a disappointing total of 118.
The downfall was largely due to a combination of poor shot selection and disciplined bowling from Hasan Ali, Blessing Muzarabani, and Zahid Mahmood.
However, Sarfaraz Ahmed’s dismissal stood out as a moment of self-inflicted misfortune. The former Pakistan captain fell victim to a lack of communication with team captain Rilee Roussow.
During the 12th over, Sarfaraz found himself facing Blessing. Attempting a quick single, he nudged a delivery towards gully and set off without properly coordinating with his partner.
Engrossed in watching the ball, Sarfaraz failed to signal his intent to Roussow. Consequently, as Sarfaraz reached halfway, Roussow was unaware of his intentions. Realizing the miscommunication, Sarfaraz hastily changed direction but it was too late.

Although the initial throw missed, the Kings capitalized on the confusion, swiftly gathering the rebound and executing a straightforward run-out, dismissing Sarfaraz for a meager seven runs.
