Aman Hakim Khan has claimed a fantastic catch at mid-wicket, dismissing du Plessis off the bowling of Mitchell Marsh. Du Plessis stepped out of the crease to try and hit the ball, but ended up slicing it towards mid-wicket.
Aman Khan showed great athleticism and stretched to his right to get a hand to the ball. He initially fumbled but managed to hold onto it on the second attempt, completing a difficult catch. Du Plessis played a quick innings before departing.
On Saturday in Bengaluru, during the IPL 2023 clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis got RCB off to a good start after being asked to bat first. The opening pair put together a partnership of 42 runs before Faf was dismissed by Mitchell Marsh for 22 runs off 16 balls.
Kohli continued his innings with Mahipal Lomror, and the two batsmen took RCB to a score of 47/1 in the powerplay. This match marks Marsh’s first game for the FC camp after his marriage, while RCB has included Wanindu Hasaranga in the playing eleven.
Hasaranga, a Sri Lankan spinner, is also playing his first match for RCB after joining the squad following his national duties. As Mitchell Marsh stepped into the bowling attack, Kohli greeted him with a boundary before handing over the strike to Du Plessis.
The South African batsman struck the pacer for a four but was soon caught by Aman Kumar at short mid-wicket. Despite the catch being difficult, Kumar managed to collect the ball on the second attempt, and Du Plessis had to depart after scoring 22 runs off 16 balls.
