Former Australian player and Chennai Super Kings’ Shane Watson, who played his last match for the team in the IPL, has selected some of his favorite players in an interview with Jio Cinema.
He chose Chennai Super Kings’ captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the greatest player in the history of IPL. When asked about his favorite batting innings, he mentioned the century he scored for Chennai Super Kings in the final match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018.
Similarly, Shane Watson revealed that his favorite moment was winning the first trophy for the team. It should be noted that Shane Watson played for the Rajasthan Royals in the 2008 season and the team defeated Chennai Super Kings in the final match to win the first trophy of the league, with Shane Warne as the captain of the Rajasthan Royals.
As the most underrated player in the IPL, Shane Watson mentioned Suresh Raina’s name. He said that Suresh Raina has performed well but is not given as much recognition.
When asked about the next big name in the IPL, Shane Watson named Australian player Cameron Green. Similarly, when asked about which legendary player he would like to see playing in the IPL, Watson mentioned Sir Vivian Richards.
It should be noted that Shane Watson is currently associated with the Delhi Capitals’ management this year, but their performance has been poor, and they have become the first team to be eliminated from the IPL 2023 playoffs race.
