WATCH : Shohidul Islam recreates iconic Dhoni self-nutmeg to runout Evin Lewis

Khulna Tigers seized control of a crucial mid-table clash against Chattogram Challengers on Tuesday, propelled by a remarkable century from Tanzid Hasan. This victory propelled them to conclude their league campaign on a high note, with a playoff spot nearly secured.

Despite posting a formidable total of 192/4, the Tigers’ bowlers were still under pressure to perform. However, they not only met expectations with their traditional bowling prowess but also shone in the field, highlighted by a remarkable moment from Shohdiul Islam.

During the ninth over, the right-arm quick was bowling to the recently arrived Evin Lewis when the Caribbean batsman deflected a delivery off his hip between short fine leg and deep square leg. While Lewis hustled for a double, his partner Shai Hope settled for a single, leaving Lewis stranded mid-pitch upon realizing his error.

Shahadat Hossain swiftly retrieved the ball and fired it towards the bowler’s end. Despite Lewis being far from the crease, the throw was directed towards the bowler, who was positioned a couple of feet away from the stumps. Seizing the opportunity, Islam gathered the ball cleanly before executing a no-look flick between his legs at the stumps.

The audacious move hit its mark, resulting in Lewis being run-out, much to the delight of the Tigers and fans on Twitter. This moment instantly drew comparisons to a similar maneuver by MS Dhoni during an IPL match for the Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017.
