When Bangladesh faced off against South Africa at the Wankhede Stadium, the Proteas won the coin toss and opted to bat first. Their opening batsmen made an impressive start, accumulating 33 runs in the initial six overs.
Bangladesh was in desperate need of a breakthrough to disrupt the opponent’s progress, and Shoriful Islam delivered precisely that. He bowled Reeza Hendricks with a stunning delivery, claiming the first wicket.
However, the talented fast bowler somewhat dampened the moment with an attempt at imitating Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan. In the seventh over’s very first ball, Shoriful delivered a well-pitched ball of good length that moved significantly, troubling Hendricks and breaching his defenses.
The left-arm pacer was overjoyed about dismissing the South African batsman, and during his celebration, he tried to replicate Hrithik’s iconic hook step from the song ‘Ek Pal ka Jeena.’ However, his imitation of the superstar actor fell quite short of the mark, managing to capture the spirit but not the finesse of the dance move.
Unsurprisingly, the Bangladeshi speedster’s Hrithik-inspired imitation quickly became a viral sensation on social media.
