WATCH : Simon Harmer’s acrobatic catch short lives post finger slash

Pretoria Capitals experienced a challenging batting performance as the Sunrisers Eastern Cape bowlers wreaked havoc on their lineup, securing wickets at quick intervals.

Despite a resilient 52-run partnership for the sixth wicket, Simon Harmer’s remarkable catch shattered the collaboration. The celebration, however, was short-lived as the all-rounder suffered a bleeding finger within four deliveries.

During the 14th over, Liam Dawson delivered a tossed-up ball wide outside the off-stump. Shane Dadswell, well-set at the crease, attempted a forceful shot with minimal foot movement, resulting in the ball looping over.

Harmer, stationed at widish long off, executed a forward dive and managed to secure the catch with firm hands, leading to Dadswell’s dismissal.

The joy for the 34-year-old Harmer was fleeting, as he sustained an injury in the succeeding over. Jimmy Neesham struck a tossed-up delivery towards the off stump, prompting Harmer to dive to his right, attempting to block the path with his outstretched right hand.

Unfortunately, he suffered a thud on his little finger, causing spontaneous bleeding. The team physio promptly rushed to the scene, triggering a frenzy on Twitter.
