Following the established trend of batting first in pink-ball Tests at the Adelaide Oval, Rohit Sharma opted to put his batting lineup to the test against the fiery Australian pacers.
The opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul were ready to face Mitchell Starc with the new ball. However, to everyone’s surprise, Jaiswal’s debut Test experience took a blow when Starc struck with the very first ball of the match, leaving Jaiswal visibly frustrated.
Starc charged in from over the wicket, delivering a fuller ball that angled in toward Jaiswal’s leg stump. The left-hander, slightly late on the shot, failed to adjust in time and was beaten by the swing, with the ball thudding into his front pad.
The on-field umpire responded to the Australian appeals by raising his finger, and Jaiswal, believing he was out, chose not to review the decision.

Disheartened, the Mumbai batter walked off the field, while Starc, visibly pumped, was surrounded by his teammates, savoring a moment of revenge after Jaiswal had mocked him in the previous Test, saying, “You’re bowling too slow.” The moment quickly went viral on Twitter, sparking a flurry of discussion across social media.
