In Karnataka, a state known for its love of sports, two teams have won the hearts of fans with their impressive performances over the years. The Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by star player Virat Kohli, have entertained cricket enthusiasts for 15 years, while Bengaluru FC, led by Sunil Chhetri, have achieved elusive success in major tournaments like the Indian Super League and I-League.
So it’s no surprise that fans were thrilled when the two teams came together for a local match in Huttanahalli.
Chhetri, who captains both Bengaluru FC and the Indian national football team, was spotted playing cricket with locals at the NICE Cricket Arena. In a video that has been circulating, the striker expertly hits a six off a spinner, sending the ball flying all the way to the parking lot.
Meanwhile, his teammates in the dugout cheer excitedly and try to guess which car the ball hit. Chhetri calmly walks back to his partner after the shot, having already made several other impressive moves that day.
Based on the video, Chhetri’s incredible skills may even make him a worthy replacement for Rajat Patidar on the RCB team for the IPL 2023, given his history of rescuing struggling sports teams.
