Pursuing a series whitewash, Australia made a strong start after choosing to field first, with Aaron Hardie dismissing Olly Hairs in the third over.
However, George Munsey and Brandon McMullen mounted a robust counterattack, providing a solid foundation for Scotland’s competitive total.
McMullen, in particular, scored a second consecutive fifty against Australia before his impeccable ball-striking was halted by a stunning catch from Travis Head.
During the 17th over, Marcus Stoinis delivered a short ball outside off stump, angling into the right-hander. McMullen aimed to pull it over short fine leg, but Head, stationed at the position, executed a perfectly timed leap to snatch the ball with his right hand, securing it cleanly.

Head then removed his cap and celebrated, drawing widespread acclaim on Twitter for his exceptional athleticism.
