WATCH : Trent Boult leaps into tournament folklore with one-handed stunner

Choosing to field first proved to be a challenging decision for MI Emirates as the ADKR openers launched an aggressive assault on the MI bowlers in the initial four overs.

Joe Clarke and Michael-Kyle Pepper, the opening duo, formed a 30-run partnership before Clarke departed in the fourth over. Despite the setback, ADKR displayed determination and concluded the powerplay at 57/1.

While MI bowlers managed to claim wickets at regular intervals, the ADKR batting lineup demonstrated resilience, particularly with stable partnerships in the middle order, featuring notable contributions from Andre Russell and Sam Hain.

However, Laurie Evans failed to make a significant impact as he was dismissed for a duck, thanks to a remarkable catch by New Zealand speedster Trent Boult. In the 18th over, bowled by Afghan player Fazhalhaq Farooqi, Evans attempted to loft a full delivery but mistimed it to the left of long off.

Positioned strategically by MI skipper Keiron Pollard, Trent Boult sprinted a considerable distance, executing a one-handed stunner with a full-length dive. The MI team was captivated by Boult’s acrobatic feat and applauded his exceptional effort.
