India B swiftly collapsed after a promising 33-run opening stand on Thursday, having been asked to bat first on a green pitch in Bengaluru.
Rishabh Pant and Musheer Khan were tasked with stabilizing the innings from a precarious 67/3, but Akash Deep dismissed Pant to end their 13-run partnership.
The subsequent delivery, however, drew considerable attention.Nitish Kumar Reddy entered the fray in the 35th over, carrying high expectations after a standout IPL season.
Yet, he had little chance to demonstrate his skills as Akash Deep delivered a good-length ball on middle stump. Reddy tentatively advanced with the intent to block, but the ball swung away sharply, evading his outside edge and crashing into the top of the off-stump.
The delivery was a dream come true for any fast bowler, and Akash Deep celebrated jubilantly as Reddy walked off with his head bowed, searching for answers to the surprising turn of events.
