WATCH : Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fall cheaply after mega auction hype

Pakistan’s decision to bat first after winning the toss in their arch-rivalry clash at the 2025 U19 Asia Cup proved fruitful, thanks to Shahzaib Khan’s scintillating 159 and Usman Khan’s solid 60, which powered them to a total of 281 runs.

Chasing the target, India’s openers struggled against Pakistan’s fiery pace attack, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi following his partner back to the pavilion shortly after.

Suryavanshi, who was snapped up by Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.3 crore in the IPL mega auction, appeared unsettled against the Pakistani bowlers.

Early in his innings, he endured a couple of blows to the abdomen and limbs before facing eight dot balls. His brief stay ended when Ali Raza bowled a length delivery wide outside off-stump, prompting a tentative push that resulted in an outside edge to the keeper.

The young batter’s poor performance, especially after securing a lucrative IPL contract, sparked a frenzy on Twitter.
