India resumed the second day of the 2nd Test on 16-1, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill adding a steady 49-run partnership.
However, Shubman Gill was the first to depart, scoring 30 off 72 balls before being dismissed by Mitchell Santner.
Gill attempted to cut a fuller delivery that straightened after pitching, missing it entirely, and was given out LBW. He opted not to review, as the ball appeared in line with the stumps.
Following Gill’s dismissal, Virat Kohli joined Jaiswal but was unable to make an impact. Kohli was bowled by a low full toss from Santner after just 9 balls, scoring only 1 run.
Playing down the wrong line, Kohli misjudged the delivery, which slid under his bat and struck middle and leg stump. Santner had a significant impact on the second morning, building on the overnight score where Jaiswal (6*) and Gill (10*) remained unbeaten at stumps.

His efforts were complemented by Glenn Phillips, who took two key wickets, sending both Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant back to the pavilion, placing further pressure on the Indian batting lineup.
