Australia found themselves in a bit of trouble as they struggled to score in their second innings of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG.
Despite the scoreboard reading 80/2 at the end of the 32nd over, the hosts appeared to be struggling against the Indian bowling attack.
On the third ball of the 33rd over, Siraj bowled a wide half-volley to Smith, who, without moving his feet, slashed at it.
The ball took the outside edge and flew into the hands of Pant, sending Siraj into an exuberant celebration. However, what stood out more than the dismissal itself was what had happened just before it.
Before the wicket, the stump mics had picked up Kohli advising Siraj to bowl from a certain angle. “Kone se daal (Bowl from the edge),” Kohli was heard saying from the slip cordon.

The Twitterati quickly latched onto the soundbite, showering praise on both the bowler and the former Indian captain for their quick thinking and teamwork.
