WATCH : Virat Kohli in splits as Suryakumar Yadav’s freestyle swim saves boundary

In the World Cup’s final group match, India showcased their batting prowess with two centuries and three half-centuries in the first innings, resulting in a formidable total of 410. This marked the country’s second-highest score in World Cup history.

Although the Indian bowlers were anticipated to dominate the last-ranked team, the Netherlands displayed a stronger resistance than both Sri Lanka and South Africa, especially after the early dismissal of Wesley Barresi.

Despite the competitive play, a humorous moment unfolded on the last ball of the eighth over when SKY (Suryakumar Yadav) made a routine fielding effort appear more challenging than it truly was. Mohammed Shami offered some width to Colin Ackermann, and the batter capitalized on it, hitting the ball through cover point.

Suryakumar Yadav decided to chase it down but, surprisingly, opted to slide too early, falling short of the ball. However, the ball’s slow pace allowed SKY to improvise, as he humorously “swam” on the grass, managing to save a run for his team.

The incident didn’t escape the notice of Twitterati and Virat Kohli, who couldn’t contain their amusement. Kohli was spotted chuckling on the field, and social media users, including the Indian skipper, took to their favorite platforms to playfully poke fun at the Indian international.
