Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and opts to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi. Both RCB and SRH have decided to play an unchanged XI. Virat Kohli will have nothing but victory in mind in their IPL 2021 match against SRH today. RCB still have two games to go and a win in both of them will get them to 20 points and give a real opportunity to finish in the top of the points table.
Dan Christian picked up the wickets of Jason Roy and Priyam Garg in one over and then Yuzvendra Chahal trapped Abdul Samad to put RCB on top. Harshal Patel broke the big partnership by dismissing Kane Williamson after he and Jason Roy had steadied SRH innings following George Garton’s first-over wicket of Abhishek Sharma.
It was tossed up ball, full and around leg, it lands and spins away as well. Samad gets on his knee and looks to slog-sweep but misses it completely. He gets hit on the pads. They appeal for LBW but not given. Kohli has a word with Chahal before going for the review and Chahal convinces his captain there. Up comes the replay and it shows wickets hitting. SRH 107/5.
Hyderabad did not have the best of starts as they lost Sharma early. But Williamson and Roy batted well after that and took them to a good platform. It looked like they would end up scoring a bit total, but after the wicket of Williamson, there was a collapse of the middle order and they found themselves at 107-5 in the 16th over. Holder and Khan tried their best to finish things on a high but were not able to and they ended up scoring 141.
