During Kent’s match against Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, Australia’s promising fast bowler Wes Agar had a forgettable performance with the ball. The 26-year-old conceded 41 runs off three overs without taking a wicket, as Glamorgan comfortably chased down a challenging target of 190 runs in just 17 overs, securing a victory with seven wickets in hand.
However, despite the loss, Agar’s exceptional fielding effort during the ninth over of Glamorgan’s innings created quite a buzz. After leaking 19 runs in the first over during the Powerplay, Kent captain Sam Billings brought Grant Stewart back into the attack to bowl the ninth over.
Unfortunately, Stewart got off to a rough start, as Glamorgan skipper Kiran Carlson smashed six runs off the first delivery. The second ball was also wayward, heading towards the leg side, where Carlson attempted to guide it past the short fine leg for four runs.
Astonishingly, Agar, diving to his left, extended his hand and managed to snatch the ball, preventing any runs. His incredible catch left everyone in the stadium amazed and in awe. Agar was elated after executing such a remarkable catch, and his teammates wasted no time in congratulating him for his valiant effort.
What a catch! 😱

However, despite Agar’s heroics, Kent couldn’t emerge victorious. Colin Ingram (unbeaten 63 off 32 balls) and Chris Cooke (unbeaten 46 off 28 balls) guided Glamorgan to victory, steadying the ship from that point until reaching the target.
