In the third ODI at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, West Indies emerged victorious over the UAE, securing a 3-0 series win by 4 wickets. The West Indies bowlers performed admirably, restricting the UAE to a low total. However, it was the celebration of off-spinner Kevin Sinclair that stole the spotlight.
The young West Indies off-spinner played a crucial role by taking a vital 4-wicket haul in the third ODI against the UAE. His scalps included Vriitya Aravind, Rameez Shahzad, Ali Naseer, and Aayan Khan. Yet, it was not only Sinclair’s impressive spell that garnered attention but also his exuberant celebrations.
The off-spinner expressed his delight with a series of somersaults to mark each wicket he claimed. Sinclair’s outstanding performance in the match saw him finish with figures of 4-24 in 7.1 overs, marking his best performance in ODI cricket for West Indies. Leg spinner Yannic Cariah also made an impact, dismissing two UAE batters while conceding only 34 runs in 8 overs.
Contributing to the UAE’s low total, Keemo Paul and Raymon Reifer claimed a wicket each. The UAE could only manage to post a score of 184 runs before being bowled out in just 36.1 overs, thanks to some brilliant bowling by the West Indies. Although skipper Roston Chase bowled impressively, he was unable to take any wickets.
In the UAE’s innings, skipper Muhammad Waseem and wicketkeeper-batsman Vriitya Aravind provided a solid start. Waseem scored a crucial 42 off 34 balls, while Aravind smashed 70 runs off 75 deliveries, including 8 fours and a six.
However, the remaining UAE batsmen failed to make a significant impact, resulting in a modest total on the scoreboard. In response, West Indies lost the early wicket of Johnson Charles.
