However, the exorbitant cost of the chair did not sit well with social media users, who mocked the Rohit Sharma-led team as the chair appeared to be nothing more than an ordinary one.
Announcing the official launch of the expensive chair on Twitter, the franchise stated that it was priced at 45k. However, to entice early buyers, Mumbai Indians also offered a welcome discount, temporarily reducing the price to INR 29,999.
Mumbai Indians shared an image of their chair on Twitter on April 5, accompanied by the caption, “तयार का, Paltan? Cheer for Mumbai Indians in style with the World’s First Mumbai Indians Chair. Limited time offer, Shop Now.”
Netizens mercilessly trolled the MI franchise for pricing the chair at a whopping 45k. The tweet quickly went viral on social media, with one Twitter user even quipping, “Will Rohit Sharma personally deliver this chair?”
Although the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians have been the most successful franchise in IPL history, their team has had a rough time in the last two seasons. Additionally, the team suffered a defeat against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first IPL 2023 match on April 2.
