Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh recently playfully teased Virat Kohli about his soccer prowess. Despite Kohli’s cricketing greatness, he also has a fondness for football, often engaging in friendly matches with Yuvraj.

During a recent chat on the TRS podcast, Yuvraj humorously shared his thoughts on Kohli’s football skills. “We’ve had some epic battles on the football field, me with [Ashish] Nehra, with Viru [Sehwag], you name it. Virat thinks he’s a top-notch footballer, and sure, he’s got skills, but I’ve got more.”

“He’s a fantastic batsman, but when it comes to football, I’ve got the edge. He believes he’s the Cristiano Ronaldo of football, but in cricket, he’s our very own Ronaldo,” Yuvraj quipped.

Both Kohli and Yuvraj played pivotal roles in India’s 2011 ODI World Cup victory, with Kohli shining with the bat and Yuvraj earning the Player of the Tournament title for his remarkable all-round performance, scoring 362 runs and taking 15 wickets.

In the same podcast, Yuvraj Singh also commended Virat Kohli for prioritizing fitness during his captaincy stint with the Indian cricket team. The 41-year-old remarked, “We all aspired to be a fit team, but when Kohli took on the captaincy, there was a noticeable transformation. He set a new standard.”

When asked about his current relationship with the star batsman, Yuvraj candidly revealed that they don’t interact much nowadays due to Kohli’s busy schedule. “I don’t disturb him because he’s occupied. We used to know the young Virat Kohli as Cheeku. Today’s Cheeku is Virat Kohli, and there’s a significant difference,” Yuvraj shared.
