WATCH : Crazy scene between Sam Hain and Jake Lintott

Sam Hain, the middle-order batsman for Warwickshire, showcased an impressive innings of 97 not out off 52 balls in their Vitality T20 Blast match against Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston.

Despite his outstanding performance, Warwickshire fell short of their target of 215 runs, finishing on 203/9. With 13 runs required off the last two deliveries, their chances of victory were slim. The responsibility fell on Jake Lintott, who was facing Jake Ball’s final over.

Lintott struck a six off the fourth ball, reducing the equation to 13 runs off the last two balls. However, on the following delivery, he missed a full toss aimed at his pads, resulting in him falling to the ground after being struck. At this point, it became clear that Warwickshire had little chance of achieving the target.

Nevertheless, Hain, batting on 96 off 51 balls, was determined to reach his century. Despite Lintott’s fall, Hain urged him to get up and complete a single. Unfortunately, Lintott was unable to stand and make it to the non-striker’s end in time. Matthew Carter quickly threw the ball from the point region, ending Lintott’s innings with a run-out.

Some social media users expressed their disapproval of Hain’s approach, particularly since he did not reach the coveted three-digit mark himself, managing only a single from the final delivery. They criticized him for the unnecessary run-out.
