WATCH : Yashasvi Jaiswal abusing WI player in Hindi

Yashasvi Jaiswal had an unforgettable day as he celebrated his debut Test century against the Windies at Windsor Park on Thursday. While Jaiswal received accolades from all quarters, there was a regrettable moment during the match that he would likely rue.

On the field, Jaiswal was captured on the stump microphone engaging in an altercation with a Windies player, while Virat Kohli stood at the non-striker’s end. Jaiswal’s voice, uttering a Hindi slang directed at the Windies player after completing a run, was captured and the clip has now gone viral on social media.

The consequences of this incident remain uncertain, and it will be interesting to observe whether Jaiswal faces any disciplinary action from the match referee.

West Indies made a few puzzling tactical decisions during the match. They chose to delay taking the new ball for 20 overs, and surprisingly underutilized their key pacers, despite Cornwall’s absence due to a chest infection after lunch. Additionally, they squandered two reviews on Kohli before Tea, which proved to be a costly mistake.

Although Roach managed to dismiss Jaiswal with the new ball, West Indies couldn’t avail themselves of any further recourse due to the lost reviews. At the end of the day’s play, a determined Kohli and an unwavering Jaiswal continue to stand strong, with India holding a 162-run lead.
