Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni delivered a savvy response to a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fan’s request after the IPL 2024 Auction. The passionate RCB supporter urged the iconic wicketkeeper-batsman to back their quest for their inaugural IPL title. Dhoni, the former India captain, extended his best wishes for their upcoming season but outlined his constraints as the leader of CSK.
CSK, the reigning champions, boast a record five IPL trophies, equalling the tally with the Mumbai Indians. Conversely, the Bangalore franchise has faced disappointment in three finals (2009, 2011, and 2015) against the now-defunct Deccan Chargers, Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, respectively.
In the interaction, the RCB Fan expressed: “I’ve been an ardent RCB supporter for 16 years. Similar to the way you’ve secured five titles for CSK, I hope you can support us and clinch a trophy for us.”
To which MS Dhoni replied: “Undoubtedly, they are a formidable team. However, it’s essential to recognize that in cricket, not everything unfolds as planned. In the IPL scenario, when all ten teams have their full roster, they all stand as strong contenders.”

While I extend my best wishes to every team, I’m limited in my capacity to extend support beyond. Imagine me diverting attention to assist another team; it might not resonate well with our loyal fans.”
