Indian pacer Deepak Chahar bowled brilliantly last night in the first T20 match between India and Sri Lanka and contributed highly in India’s win. The Indian batsmen failed to put up a great target for the Lankans in the first innings but it was just enough for their bowling unit to defend. The trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal and Deepak Chahar wrought havoc and picked up as many as 7 wickets. Sri Lanka were all out within 18.3 overs and India thus won the first T20 match of the series. The other three wickets were picked up by Varun Chakravarty, Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya.

Deepak Chahar was one of India’s most aggressive bowlers last night. The CSK fast bowler looked like a man on a mission and his reaction on getting his second wicket of the night by cleaning up Wanindu Hasaranga was worth every penny. The pacer showed his full aggression in his celebration and it was clearly visible what the wicket meant to him. A video clip of his celebration got posted by a fan on social media and it got viral in no time.
The pacer had also picked up the wicket of in-form Sri lankan batsman Charith Asalanka. Asalanka was then batting on 44 and possessed a real threat to India. However, Deepak Chahr made it sure to clean him up comfortably enough.

Deepak Chahar has been outstanding in India’s tour of Sri Lanka not only with the ball but also with the bat. His heroic batting performance won India the second match of the ODI series which they won 2-1. He has also been extremely consistent with his bowling. The CSK star is definitely one of the top contenders to make it to India’s playing XI for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
