Following Chennai Super Kings’ triumph in winning their 5th IPL title, equalling the record set by Mumbai Indians, an interesting banter unfolded between Dwayne Bravo and former MI legend Kieron Pollard. Both West Indian players were associated with the CSK and MI dugouts, respectively, during the IPL 2023 season.

Taking to Instagram, DJ Bravo playfully teased Kieron Pollard by sharing a video of their conversation inside a car. Despite not being a part of the CSK squad this year, Bravo remained in the CSK dugout as a bowling coach. He made this decision after receiving a persuasive phone call from Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni themselves.

Bravo’s valuable insights and guidance greatly contributed to the success of CSK’s bowlers in crucial moments throughout the season. Speaking of Kieron Pollard, he had a similar storyline as he took on the role of batting coach within the MI dugout prior to the commencement of this year’s IPL.

However, his choice not to participate as a player surprised many, considering he still possessed a significant amount of cricketing prowess and potential. In a playful exchange between the legends of their respective teams, Bravo and Pollard engaged in banter as their teams reached the same number of titles.

Pollard took the first jab, asking Bravo how it felt to be a five-time champion, highlighting his own experience of holding that feeling for the past three years.

Bravo, not one to back down, confidently claimed that CSK is the most successful franchise, only to be met with denial from Pollard, who pointed out that both MI and CSK now share the same number of trophies. The CSK all-rounder then playfully taunted Pollard by highlighting his own achievements, stating, “I am the most decorated T20 player with 17 trophies, while you have just 15.”
