Jaya Bhardwaj, the wife of Indian pacer Deepak Chahar, was defrauded of Rs 10 lakh by con artists claiming to have a business opportunity. According to reports, Chahar’s father Lokendra has filed a complaint with the Hari Parvat Police Station in Agra.

According to reports, the complaint filed with the Agra police by the father of Chennai Super Kings’ pacer Chahar names Dhruv and Kamlesh Pareek as the primary suspects. The individuals, hailing from Hyderabad, are said to have conned Chahar’s wife. One of the accused, Kamlesh, was a former official with the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused took Rs 10 lakh from the cricketer’s wife and then absconded. The accused disappeared on October 7, 2022 after taking Rs 10 lakh for a supposed business venture and failing to return it. The FIR also claims that the cricketer’s family was subjected to verbal abuse and threats when they requested the return of the money.

Right-arm swing bowler Chahar, who was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings for a substantial bid of Rs 14 crore, tied the knot with Jaya Bhardwaj in a grand ceremony in Agra on June 2, 2022. The wedding took place after the completion of the IPL 2022, which Chahar missed due to an injury.

Chahar made a brief comeback after regaining his fitness, but suffered another injury during the second T20I against West Indies in December. Since then, he has been inactive. The cricketer is hoping to get back in shape and receive clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to participate in IPL 2023.
