The Sunrisers Eastern Cape team achieved a historic victory by successfully chasing a 172-run target against the highly-skilled MI Cape Town squad. Despite losing half of their players early on, the Sunrisers managed to pull off a remarkable comeback thanks to an impressive 66-run knock from Marco Jansen.

Known primarily for his bowling abilities, Jansen impressed with his batting skills, hitting 7 sixes and 3 boundaries in just 27 deliveries with a strike rate of 244.44. He dominated the bowlers, even overpowering the renowned spinner Rashid Khan by scoring 28 runs off of him in a single over.

One of Jansen’s boundaries also caused a collision with journalist Zainab Abbas, who was interviewing a coaching staff member at the time. Thankfully, she quickly stood up and confirmed that she was okay.

Despite the Sunrisers’ recent victory, they currently sit in 5th place on the points table with 2 wins and 2 losses from 4 matches and a negative net run rate of -0.579. Meanwhile, MI Cape Town holds the 2nd spot with 2 wins and 3 losses from 5 matches, thanks to a positive net run rate of +0.264.

The Paarl Royals currently lead the table, with the Pretoria Capitals in 3rd place. The Joburg Super Kings, led by Faf du Plessis, hold the last spot with 2 wins from 4 matches and a disappointing net run rate of -1.055. The Durban Super Giants are in 4th place on the points table.
