During the 18th over, Pathirana, representing CSK, needed to deliver an almost flawless over to keep his team in the game. He performed admirably, conceding only six runs from the first four balls. However, on the fifth ball, the pacer decided to bowl a length ball outside the off stump to Hardik Pandya.
The Gujarat Titans’ captain took a swing at it, but the ball only found the fielder at mid-off. Deepak Chahar quickly retrieved the ball and, despite Hardik’s attempt to reach the crease, threw it accurately towards the stumps.
