Former Australian cricketer Shane Watson has selected the four most impactful players of the IPL 2023 season so far. Watson believes that Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis has been the most impressive in IPL 2023 thus far.
Along with du Plessis, Watson has also named three Indian players as his preferred impactful players. The Australian all-rounder shared a video on his official Twitter account, picking his four impactful players.
He named RCB’s captain Faf du Plessis, Rajasthan Royals’ young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, Gujarat Titans’ fast bowler Mohammad Shami, and Mumbai Indians’ experienced spinner Piyush Chawla as his preferred players.
It should be noted that all four players chosen by Watson are making a lot of noise in the IPL. Faf du Plessis has scored a total of 511 runs at an average of 56.78 in 10 matches played so far this season. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal has also scored a total of 477 runs at an average of 43.36 in 11 matches played. This young player has hit one century and three half-centuries this season.
If we talk about Mohammed Shami and Piyush Chawla, then for the Gujarat Titans, Shami has taken 19 wickets in 11 matches. This year, Shami’s bowling economy has been 7.23 and he has been successful in providing his team with success with new ball in almost every match. Piyush Chawla has also performed well, taking 17 wickets in 10 matches.
