Royal Challengers Bangalore locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders at Abu Dhabi which happens to be the 2nd match after the resumption of the 2021 edition of IPL. RCB skipper Virat Kohli was playing his 200th IPL game. Kohli won the toss which was the only thing which went in favor of the Royals tonight.

RCB had a horrible start to their innings as captain Kohli departed in the 2nd over off Prasidh Krishna’s delivery. Debutant Srikar Bharat came out to bat at No.3 for RCB. Just when the runs were effing out, Padikkal departed off the last ball in the powerplay scoring 22 runs. Srikar Bharat also followed Padikkal after staying in the pitch for a while scoring 16 runs.
Things turned out to get bad from worse when AB De Villiers was dismissed for a first ball duck off Andre Russell’s delivery. ABD could not do much as Andre Russell bowled a perfect yorker which went on to hit the leg stumps. RCB’s most expensive player Glenn Maxwell departed soon after attempting to play a big shot off Varun Chakraborty’s delivery. Maxwell looked frustrated by his shot as he was throwing his bat and helmet on his way to the dugout.
Just after RCB’s best three went to the dugout, wickets fell in quick succession. The rest of the batting lineup departed in just a matter of time as RCB were bundled out for 92 runs after the completion of 19 overs.

Varun Chakraborty and Andre Russell bagged three wickets each while Lockie Ferguson managed to pick up 2. Prasidh Krishna managed to pick up the only wicket of Virat Kohli.
KKR chased down the target easily as they thumped a 9-wicket victory against the Royals. Shubhan Gill was the only batsmen to get out after scoring 48 runs. Venkatesh Iyer was seen scoring an unbeaten 41 runs off 27 deliveries.
Varun Chakraborty was awarded the man of the match award for his brilliant bowling figures of 4-0-13-3. Varun Chakraborty was also responsible for Kyle Jamieson’s run out.
Twitter exploded soon after RCB’s batting lineup fell like a deck of deck of cards. Twitter went on fire after RCB’s poor display with the willow.
