Shami to du Plessis, out Lbw!! Shami’s planning pays off finally. Went wide of the crease on two occasions prior to this against Faf. Both were fullish outswingers, one that was left alone and then saw one just beating the SA skipper’s outside edge. On this occasion, the length is slightly shorter and the line is straighter as well. Faf gets pinned on the crease and is late to react as this straightens off the deck just a fraction to rap him on the back pad.
The lower bounce didn’t help either and it looked stone dead in real time. The umpire wasted no time in raising his finger but Faf, perhaps in desperation, went for the review. Was always going to be in trouble if he didn’t hit this and UltraEdge confirms that he hasn’t. As plumb as it gets. SA falling apart quickly once again.
